Merry Christmas! ...Well, what can I say? I wanted to do a Christmas comic, and the ideas for the first line and the Christmas square scene stuck in my head. This is the result.

The "Christmas square" is a reference to the Walfas flash "How the Parsee Stole Christmas". In one scene, Kisume thinks that a "Christmas square" (actually a sliding door from Hakugyokurou) is what some people use in place of a Christmas tree. (Incidentally, that's supposed to be KirbyM in the end panel there.) As for "Bucket Ranka", it's a fan nickname given to Kisume due to her resemblance to the Macross Frontier character and the fact that she, well, rides in a bucket.

Those stocking sprites are edited and recolored from the Sockop (an enemy in the new Mario&Luigi RPG.) Guess which stocking is for who and win... uh... a free reading of this comic! Oh wait...

I'm still not sure what a sash is.

I was hoping to introduce Azula (full name: Azulabelue Azumi) in a different context, but I guess this works. Just think of her as being like Konata from Lucky Star.

Azula is the first character to use sprites from Platinum. The Delibird, the Stantler, and Azula are the first characters to use sprites from HeartGold and SoulSilver. (Also, I recolored Delibird's Diamond/Pearl sprite to match the HgSs version.)

This comic took a lot of work, both to write it out and to put the images together. I went back and forth between create.swf and Paint a lot, but in the end I guess it worked okay. (The panel that took the most editing was the one where Kisume is doing the Ranka gesture (sorta), since the bucket object isn't the same size as the bucket on the Kisume character (which comes with both hands gripping the side).)

By the way, this comic probably sets some kind of record, since I don't think anyone else has combined Pokemon, a Luigi-cosplaying author avatar, Touhou characters, Walfas references, Grinch references, a Lucky Star-inspired character, a Narnia reference (the Stantler saying his name is Phillip), A Macross Frontier reference, and "The Night Before Christmas" ever before.
